Our Story

MARIAH’S STORY
I'm Mariah, my main loves are dogs, books, music and travelling all of which I love sharing with Andrew.
ANDREW’S STORY
I’m Andrew and for many years now my joy has come from travelling the world and now I have the greatest opportunity in the world to experience this with Mariah

Our Journey

2021
After meeting on Bumble at the start of 2021 during the heights of the Covid Lockdown, Mariah convinces Andrew it will be safe and he won’t get caught by the Police, so they should meet. This was also the theme in March 2021 where we took Poppy and Willow for a picnic and Willow ate a skewer so Andrew sped off to take her home... Andrew still speeds off at the end of the date! Willow did fall in love with Mariah and to this day, prefers her to Andrew.

Buckingham was a special place for us as we did a treasure trail in the April and then we made it official as Boyfriend and Girlfriend.

For Andrew's 30th birthday, Mariah booked for us to go away to stay overnight in a prison cell, along with poppy and willow, you can guess how we all slept!

From there we spent every weekend and any spare time we had together, we did our first weekend away to Crawley where we took Poppy and Willow. We took a longer trip to Taunton in October, where Andrew caught covid for the first time and drove off home.

Our first arguments were petty, consisting of disagreements over puzzles and our stay in Crawley, Willow not being allowed on the bed, but somehow managed her way onto there!
We then took our first trip abroad at the end of 2021 to the German Christmas Markets in Düsseldorf.

2022
As 2022 begins, we visited Warner Bros Studios and Top Golf. Our holiday was Mykonos, which turned out to be a lot colder than we thought! But we still made it a really fun holiday with some quad bikes for the whole trip.

In the February we did a cabin for weekend in Norwich where Andrew got scared of a spider so kicked it out the door and it was at this moment Mariah knew he was definitely the one.
in March, we did a few little breaks to Manchester and a dog stay with Poppy in Wiltshire.

Later in June, our little child Bear was born, in September we did our first little break together with Bear at an untapped off the grid Cabin.

This was all topped off towards the end of the year as we move into our first home together. This was also the time Mariah was encouraging Andrew to think about proposing.

2023
With us starting 2023 and settling into the house, we spent the first half of the year trying to set up our little home together.

March 2023 we had a long weekend away in Leeds where we did Axe throwing together and Japanese tea tasting

As Summer arrived we took a few little trips together, where we went and spent a weekend at Robyn and Misty's down in Devon, followed by a glamping trip on the welsh border.

Some of the longer trips we did together in 2023 were a week road trip around Scotland, as we did 1,500 miles going through Edinburgh, Aberdeen then through the Highlands all the way up to Inverness and then back down. We then flew to Ireland for a road trip to Dublin, Galway and Belfast.

We took on our first challenge together, participating in The Muddy Dog Challenge with Bear for Battersea Dogs.

New Years Eve, we were given a new adult responsibility, getting rid of the roommates that had decided to move in, the weavers (or weasels as Mariah puts it).

2024
For our 3rd Anniversary, we decided to take a trip to Barcelona.

We have been to see Ryan Reynolds, Lucinda Light and Michael Mcintyre live, all of whom were funny. We went to London to see a Lego exhibition.

As both lovers of America, we decided a big holiday needed to be made to Orlando and Bahamas. This was a memorable experience which we both enjoyed but had its difficulties! The main ones standing out are: the hurricane, getting a flight early to the Bahamas, only to then drop out of the sky to Andrew bringing home a new friend, Lyme disease. However, it wasn't all bad. This was when Andrew decided, Mariah was the one.

Andrew informed Alison of his intentions (which Alison readily agreed!) and Andrew set about planning.

We did a Bournemouth Stay to visit the Christmas Markets.

We had a special Christmas at a Norfolk Cottage, ending with a surprise...

The Proposal

2025
We visited 3 wedding venues, Plum park Manor, Huntsmill Farm and The Granary. It was a difficult choice, but we fell in love with Huntsmill Farm (mainly because they were dog friendly!).

For Valentines, with friends we went to an adult farm night where we got to run around and pet the animals. We went and captured our save the date photos at Dobbies.

Mariah, who thought she would be fine visiting only 2 wedding shops, forgot how indecisive she is and Mariah and the bridal party visited up to 5 shops before she found 'the one'. Andrew has still to yet find his suit, he knows its navy though.

For our 4th anniversary, we had a plush night away at Aqua Sauna which we very much enjoyed.

We visited a Wedding Exhibition, choosing a Photo Booth and our photographer.

Mariah asked her bridesmaids over the first few months of 2025, all accepting! One of these meant we went to Edinburgh and had a couple of chilled days. Andrew asked his two groomsman.

We went to another showing of comedy about spies, which we have already booked another viewing in o2026. We went to a true crime museum and had a day out in Hastings.

We took Bear to training classes (watch this space!) in preparation for the wedding. We have visited Huntsmill Farm a couple of times, discussions with Alison on how we envision the wedding coming to life,

We enjoyed our trip =n November to LA and Las Vegas. We chose this destination due to the American's being very seasonal and with the hope of getting some wedding decorative items.

Whilst our plans are not set in stone for 2026, what we already know is Chad's 30th, both of our mum's 60th, Mariah graduating with hopefully a degree and organising our engagement photos.
